Certified skills of 50 faculty members at illy's Coffee University
Trieste, Feb. 05, 2024 – eachers working in the 23 locations of illy's Università del Caffè spread around the world have obtained certification from ACS Italia, a body that certifies the level of knowledge and skill in training.
All 50 illy University of Coffee faculty members who undertook the accreditation process have achieved certification.
Particularly appreciated was the performance of trainers from Trieste who achieved the highest degree of certification. Since its founding in 1999 to date, the University of Coffee, a center of excellence created by illycaffè to promote, support and disseminate the culture of quality coffee around the world, has trained 345,000 people. Its courses are dedicated to operators in the production chain, growers, hospitality professionals and consumers.
The opening of branches of the University of Coffee on different continents allows it to be present in the territory with specialized teachers from a technical and educational point of view, also meeting specific local needs.
The courses consist of different educational proposals, calibrated to the needs of the supply chain.
For growers, the courses allow them to share the best agronomic techniques to be applied locally in different production areas.
A professionals working in bars, restaurants and hospitality, the University of Coffee offers specific training with ongoing updates on the different coffee preparations and on business management and promotion.
For enthusiasts, it organizes tasting sessions and popular courses to learn how to appreciate and recognize the taste and aromas of different coffees in the world.

ACS Italia is an ACCREDIA-accredited Personnel Certification Body, in accordance with UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17024:2012 (Certificate No. 0117PRS). Teachers at illy Coffee University are registered in the international register of the certifying body. ACS Italia issues the certification to the candidate who has successfully passed the exam and meets all the requirements, listing him or her in the register that can be consulted at www.acsitalia.it.
