Professional figures working on civil gas systems
Standard UNI 11554 defines the requirements related to the activity of those working on combustible gas systems of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd family according to UNI EN 437, of civil type fed by distribution networks, namely that:

design, install, remove, inspect, test or verify, commission and maintain gas-fired systems in a safe state of operation

select, install, remove, test or verify, commission and maintain gas appliances and their components.
In particular, the following specialized profiles are identified:

Technical Manager (Profile A)

Installer (Profile B)
-
Maintenance Worker (Profile C)
For each specialized profile, the Standard distinguishes between two levels according to the thermal flow rate of the slaved appliances and the supply pressure:

2nd level: domestic and similar systems for the use of combustible gases belonging to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd families, downstream of the starting point, served by appliances with a nominal individual heat input of not more than 35 kW

1st level: systems serving buildings for civil use for the use of combustible gases belonging to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd families, downstream of the starting point, served by appliances with a nominal individual heat input greater than 35 kW (or total greater than 35 kW if installed in a battery) and supplied at a pressure of not more than 0.5 bar
Certification is awarded after passing an exam consisting of a written test to assess knowledge, an oral test to deepen the level of knowledge, skills and interpersonal skills acquired by the candidate, and simulations of real operational situations. With certification, the professional is able to provide greater assurance to his or her clients, gain credibility, and access the registers of certified professionals.
